Corvay Bioproducts was founded end 2018 in Halle, Saxony-Anhalt, close to the Middle German Chemistry Triangle, by Albrecht Läufer and Joachim Schulze. Both founders have each over 30 years of experience in the Biotech- and Engineering Industry in leading positions and an extensive national and international network to technology experts, researchers and potential customers likewise.
It is our mission to provide a holistic approach to biotechnological processes by developing carbon footprint neutral technology platforms using renewable feedstocks combined with best-in-class biotransformation processes, energy saving engineering solutions for innovative fermentation equipment and applying circular economy.

The DDDA-Technology Platform
In 2019 Corvay Bioproducts acquired Verdezynes, Inc. Dodecanedioic Acid-Technology Platform to biotechnologically produce long chain diacids from renewable feedstocks. This process leads to a 100% BIO-DDDA (DDDA = Do Decane Di Acid). The technology package contains an number of high yield production strains and patents as well as Standard-Operation-Procedures, laboratory notebooks and detailed documentation of test trials and upscaling campaigns. Based on these assets Corvay Bioproducts further improved the downstream and purification process to make it even more sustainable and reduce energy and OPEX costs by applying circular economy to valorize the existing side streams. An own patent application was filed.
Furthermore, the Product and Technology Pipeline of Corvav Bioproducts contains additional six promising targets with high synergetic potential. The most advanced project next to the DDDA-Platform is FerroShield, which is a registered Trademark of a proprietary formulation used as a corrosion inhibitor. Trials for toll production and application test in industry are complete and the product is ready to be launched. Other Projects are the development of several long-chain diacids, including an unsaturated DC18 product, directed strain evolution and innovative engineering solutions for more sustainable Fermentation Technologies.
